My printer says it has ink but its not prinitng can it dry up?

I have a dell printer and it used to work fine but i havent used it but a few times and that was like 9 months ago and it says it still has ink is there a possiblity that it dried up?

aslo i took the cartriges out and pressed em against something and the black didnt have any thing come out and the color did but it still wont print in color, atleast not in blue.

any input on how is appriciated

try cleaning the printer heads with a q tip and rubbing alcohol that might get the ink flowing again

We always shake our printers strongly and that seems to help... try it!

Yes it can dry out. Go to printers and print test page, clean heads if it has that option, redo it untill the test page is clear. Print ANYTHING every so often! I am guilty myself!
