Question:

My printer used to print and now it doesn't!!! Please help!

Hi. I bought a computer back in November. We also bought a printer to go along with it and the printer was working fine. I have an Hp f4180 all in one desktop computer.

But lately whenever we go to print something, all it does it put the printing job in queue. I can't print anything. We have printed jobs before so I assume we have the right driver installed. I tried searching for the "printer spool" but the instructions I found online do not show me how to find the printer spool on a vista computer.

I am stuck. I have a job interview and can not print off any resumes and the library is closed. I am lost as to what to do. Please help. thanks!

  1. Consider reinstalling the printer.

    Clear the print queue by deleting everything that's waiting.

    Turn off the printer.

    Delete the printer from your set of printers.

    Turn on the printer again and let it reinstall.  Then try printing just a test page.


  2. Did you possibly pause the print job? If you have a printer icon in the systray, right click it and open the HP toolbox if you have one. From there you can check several things like communication between the PC and printer.
