My professer said that global warming was a fraud and the globe was getting colder, and had proof, thoughts?

He said that global warming is true, but to a certain point, he showed us records of the past years tempatures which some went up, and some down. But he also explained his lesson very well. I belive that he is right.

Where do you go to college and what class were you taking where this discussion came up?  You should show him this as evidence of your scholarship.  If he is half the man he seems to be, he will be incredibly proud of helping in your search for intellectual enlightenment.

Your professor is exactly right and time will prove him so.  Those with an agenda, such as Al Gore, will be proven wrong.  Evidence is already piling up.  Gobal warming is an natural event, not man made.  It happened after the last ice age.  Truth is, we are actually entering the beginning of the next ice age.

Tis true. Several of the pro global warming scientists have now come out and said that the earth is in a "Natural cooling stage" and then added that the warming will start again in 12 to 20 years. Talk about padding your bet.

What did he define to be global warming?  A general trend in warming; that humans are causing the warming; or a destabilization of the global climate?

That is an interesting point of view but you have to ask yourself how reliable is his proof. What are his sources? It is easy to make "scientific fact" look completely genuine while all the sources and experiments backing it up are completely bogus. Dont discount his point of view but look at it cautiously.

Then why are some cities, like Venice, in Europe sinking. Buildings that were around for hundreds of years are getting damaged by the storms only recently. Also the glaciers are melting at an alarming rate, I don't think that's because its getting cooler.

He is right.  Look how long earth has been around compared to humans and you will find times when the earth has a period of warm and periods of cold.  Earth has been here for eons and is able to fix itself, called evolving.  did you know oxygen was once a deadly gas but animals, plants evolve to overcome that?

Global warming benefits the elite corporate interests behind the new world order.

It is a CONVENIENT truth for them.  Some benefits reaped so far:

-  rally the people of the world behind a common cause, thereby making it easier for the globalists to induce support for global government,

-  elite corporate interests are making a huge pile of $$$$$ as a result of the global warming myth,

-  advance one of the long-held objectives of the globalists - world depopulation -- by the contrived food short resulting from use of agricultural land to grow biofuels instead of food.

And we, the taxpayers of the world, fun this fiasco with our tax dollars and our purchasing the necessities of life - food and energy.

Julie, my friend, are you afraid to hear the other side of the issue?  I listen to your side.  I don't want them to "shut up". I thought liberals were supposed to be so open minded to everyone's viewpoint....as long as it matches what you think, I guess.

I don't want you to shut up...like you asked me to do. And yes, my answer is usually the same to global warming questions...do you want me to continually change my stance and not state facts that I have researched? If you have an argument, stick to it...at least I have one...and I have done a tremendous amount of reading on this subject. I had no deceitful motives when I started studying global warming...I just wanted facts.

I think your Professor needs to do some more research.  If his thesis is correct, why is the ice melting?  Why are temperatures all over the globe rising?  Right here in Sacramento, Calif. we are looking at three or four days of 100 degree weather in May.  Unheard of for this region.  Central United States has 200 more tornadoes this season then ever before recorded.  Warm air causes Tornadoes.  Temperatures are rising all over the planet.  That doesn't sound like an Ice age to me.
