my ps3 broke today it had the yellow flashing light and it wont start. I am pretty sure it is broken and i got a 1 year warranty for it and ive had it for a year in a half. i got the 60 gig model. Does this mean that i have to buy a 400 dollar system or do i still get discounts on a new system

  1. out of warranty repair for ps3 is $150.

  2. Sorry but you need to buy it full price. There's no discount.

  3. Why buying a new one if you can fix yours for money. Anyway it'll cost less than a new one. 60GB is a rare one.

  4. you can try calling sony and sending it back in, they might be able to fix it (but it might cost ya a pretty penny).

our died too... not the same problem as yours, but enough to p**s us off that we dont even want to fix it.

  5. go to games stop to purchase a used one you can still get a warranty on it

  6. send it back to sony they will replace the part that is broken but its going to cost you some money

  7. but a sony continuous play warranty and then in 2 weeks time, report it broken. say it happened recently.

    simple.

if that doesn't work, which it should, your stuffed and will have to buy a new system.

  8. You are going to have to either pay to get it fixed or just buy a new one at full price.  They won't offer you a discount based on the fact that you already bought one.  Next time, make sure you buy it a place that offers an oppurtunity to purchase and extended warranty.  The warranties on most any products suck, but some of the better stores offer you a chance to purchase an extended warranty (the price of the extended warranty depends on the price of the purchase/item getting bought).  I just got a PS3 about three months ago, but I bought the extended warranty for 50 extra dollars that covers me completely for 3 additional years.

  9. call sony they should fix it for cheap if not free ect. if not sell it for parts then buy a new one.

  10. you can give sony a ring...and they can probably fix it...but u will be charged...thats why extended warranty is recommended
