Question:

My ps3 won't play ps3 format movies?

Well I downloaded a film in avi. format and converted it into a ps3 specific format using the free video converter (mpeg-4 I think????)

It worked perfectly using windows media player as the media server.

Then I downloaded the update for veoh and that "required" i get quicktime (all the videos that said needed it played perfectly before the update) So after downloading quicktime I downloaded another film in avi. format and converted it into the same format as the previous put it in the same place but I get an error message saying "the data type is not supported". I tried the other film and guess what I was getting the same error message.

I'm wondering what went wrong and if anyone knows what I should do.

Any and all help will be greatly appreciated ^_^

  1. Use a very good and free video converter from www.pspvideo9.com That converter was developed especially for consoles.

  2. ill add a link to the lsit of supported movies, and a link to the converter i sue, which defeintly works with PS3, tried n tested, as well as jsut having a PS3 option in a drop down list.

.mov is a Quicktime file , and the only format i know that requires Quicktime, though video formats are a bit iffy in that Mpeg-4 can be a .mov/avi/mkv etc.
