I could play playstation 2 games on it as much as i wanted but starting yesterday, my ps3 wont play the games, and it keeps saying "An error occurred during the start operation" i just went to the store and bought a brand new ps2 game because i thought my last one was broken, but the same problem is persisting. what do i do?? please help

  1. have you used a PS2 memory card adapter on your PS3 yet ? If I'm not mistaken you must load any PS2 save games onto the PS3 memory before it can actually load that particular game.

Also, you CANNOT play PS2 games on a 20GB PS3, if you have any other type, there shouldn't be any problems

If all else fails just call Sony Tech Support at 800-345-7669

  2. just play it on a ps2 maybe? otherwise, you could try and call sony, and see what they say about it.

  3. i think that the 80gb ps3 is supposed to not play all of ps2 games only some of them but it depends what is the type of ps3 that u have is it 20gb,40gb,60gb,or 80gb.

the 20 and 60gb r supposed to play all PS2 and PS1 games except for 3 or 2

the 80gb doesnt play as much PS2 and PS1 games.same with the 40gb

  4. Go to www.playstation.com tons of info on there site. about your question.
