My psp usb cable wont work?

Question

i plug it in to my my windows XP. i have every thing set. then i go to usb connetion on my psp. it says Please wait and after that it nothing changes.

have you tried to use a differnt usb cable in the PSP?  that might be your problem...or check to see if anything got into the connection and if so clean it out with like atooth pick or Q-tip so it makes a good connection....and lastly if none of those work then maybe you could have an internal error with your PSP...i hope this helps you out...good luck!
