Hi

Last time I went to my psychiatrist for depression, I told him about how I thought there were people and cameras in my house. And some other things like that. But he didnt say anything about it after I told him. He said that I dont need psychiatric help with my depression. But he does want to see me again in 3 months to see how I am. What does this mean? Does he think its nothing? Or does he want to see me again because of this?

(Sorry, I know that you cant know for sure but I was just wondering what you think!!)

  1. he wants to see you in three months to see how things are coming along.  perhaps then he will do something about it,then, if it is not better. sounds like he thinks you will be ok.  will you?  if the answer is no, go to someone else.  that is your patient right.  there are psychologist, counselors, and psychiatrist.  i see a psychiatrist for meds and a counselor to talk.  see if you have a local mental health clinic.

  2. I would go get another opinion seems like he shrugged you off you could be beyond crazy in 3 months

  3. sounds like schizophrenia

  4. wow, this guy obviously doesnt give a d**n about you...s***w him girlie, get someone else.

  5. Apparently your psychiatrist recognized the same red flag that I did when I started reading your explanation.  I'm not saying you don't have a legitimate complaint because I don't know you.  However, there is something that wouldn't merit drastic measures from me if I were your psychiatrist.  You didn't mention a single symptom of depression but you did list some of the things students are using to try and get tranquilizers.

If the psychiatrist gave you medication for depression, he expected that it would help you and there would be no reason for another visit for 3 months OR he thought you were faking it.  Most insurance companies allow only a certain number of pre-approved visits per year.  You can always visit your physician and talk with him about it.  The psychiatrist usually sends him a progress report after each visit.

If an emergency arises or you get into a crisis you can go to the emergency room or call your psychiatrist and he will see you quickly.

  6. These are the second opinions...anyways:

Maybe he really wants to "see" you again.

Or just make sure you are still not seeing cameras and people

outside your door. Or wants your money.

  7. Most psychiatrists seem "mysterious" to me.  Most likely, he is observing and monitoring your behavior.

Unlike physical illnesses, with mental illness - it is rare for a doctor to say "you have this and this will cure it."  It takes sometimes months/years to find the correct diagnosis and treatment.  I was like you - I wanted answers and feel better NOW

You sound to have paranoid tendencies.  The doctor is probably conservative in his/her use of medications.  Follow their directions - go back and see the doc in the 3 months - or earler if your condition should worsen.

  8. I think that he thinks that you do not need a psychiatrist.  But in 3 months he wants you to visit him and let him know how you are doing.

  9. You may want to go talk to a psychologist, they'll listen to your problems and give you tips on how to handle it. Either that or find a new psychiatrist.

  10. seek a second opinion.

  11. many people suffer from depression

and cause you think there are cameras in your house

does not mean you have a mental illness

take care of your health, sleep plenty, maybe take vitamins

you may not need to see the psychiatrist in 3 months

if he is not helping you

read some of the stories on curezone.com

    it may help

  12. That seems odd, I would stop seeing him and seek a new psychiatrist/therapist/psychologist.

  13. Sounds like you really need to get a new psychiatrist. They should always give you feedback on your issues, and then wanting to see you again in 3 months??? That's bs. He just wants your money and doesn't seem willing to put his time and energy into your issue at hand.
