how do i know for sure that I have this problem. I have been on zoloft for 7 years i cant feel emotions, or think in a normal sense. my psychiatrist prescribed me seroquel, but I cant seem to handle it. The side effects are horrendous and it knocks me out for days. the seroquel helps me sleep, but i sleep too much and feel like a zombie. Im also concerned that i wont be able to feel emotions again.

  1. Did this start after you went on Zoloft? Because I'm assuming that if you went on Zoloft you didn't have any trouble feeling emotions - you were depressed, right?

It is probably the Zoloft making you feel numb. Don't take any more medication! Your psychiatrist isn't listening to you. A depressed person going on meds and then having no emotion should be a sign that you're on the wrong medication.

Unfortunately, non-responsive psychiatrists are all too common these days.
