My pumpkin plant is trying to take over the world!

Question

I have 3 pumpkins growing and have been taking off the buds, but the leaves are branching out and covering my tomato's, should i just snap the leafs off? i don't wont to kill the plant but its getting out of control. I have no idea what sort of pumpkin plant it is. When do they turn orange?? Please help!!!!

don't snap them off bury them under dirt. they will convert to roots and make you pumpkins grow bigger

Once you have 3 pumpkins growing, you can snip of any growing tips and side-shoots and flowers. They will only divert energy away from the growing pumpkins and prevent them from getting big. Leave the leaves as the plant needs to make food for the fruits. Water well during the plumping up period as most of the pumpkin is water.
