Question:

My pupils are uneven?

Have you ever known someone with this or heard of a condition that causes this/has this as a side effect?

It started after I had laser eye surgery. And it's always the right one that is smaller. Some days it's a huge difference, other days you need to concentrate hard to see it. But I can see it almost every day, even if it's just a fraction of a millimeter difference.

When I shine a light into my eyes, both pupils react equally (i.e. both get smaller, then get bigger again) and then go back to the uneven state.

Any ideas?

  1. Lots of people have pupils that are not quite the same size, so it might be normal for you. However, since you say it started after laser surgery, you should check with your eye surgeon to make sure it is nothing important. Normally as part of a good eye exam the doctor will check your pupil reaction using a flashlight.
