My puppy's sudden loss of appetite?

I have a 4 month old boxer/pitbull mix puppy named Punk. He is usually very excited to be fed and scarfs down the entire bowl in no time. For three days, now, though, he hasn't been eating and I'm worried. This has happened before but it was just a little bout of sickness that we got rid of with antibiotics the vet gave us. When he got sick the first time, he still drank water, though. He hardly does now unless he's really tired.

My roommate left him to destroy the house a few days ago when forgetting to put him in his kennel and he ate a good portion of the rug we have. He's also taken to chewing on the doorframes. We try to stop it, scold, when we see it but our success rate is about 95%.

He's having regular bowel movements. Just not eating regularly, aside from a small mouthful twice a day, and not drinking as much as he used to. His urine was also very dark yesterday. It's not today but I'm still concerned.

  1. Dark urine is a sign of dehydration as the urine is very concreted ,so your dog is not getting enough fluids,

Your puppy NEEDS to see the vet again, asap  could be a blockage but as im not a vet,all i CAN say with complete certainty is this is not normal,

    ,

add--if he has been pooping out bits of carpet there is a chance that a chunk has gotten stuck internally,,if it were my dog i would not take the chance

  2. Get him down to the vet to get him checked over, could be something he ate in his rampage through the house. Better to make sure then him being extremely ill

  3. call the vet he may have carpet in his stomach

  4. Take him to the vet.. the rug could be toxic. When he starts to chew anything, spray him with a squirt bottle (ice cold water works).

  5. he could have something stuck that he ate in his intestines. Time to take him to the vet, he might need surgery.

  6. be seriously concerned and take it to the vet.i hope the pup had his vacines.

did u ever hear of parvo? thats a very dangerous disease, and it ussualy starts with low apetite.

im not saying its that, but loss of apetite is not good. go to the vet

vet can give u a recovery royal canin food, its was good for my puppy whet it refused to eat when we brought her to home

  7. The urine is dark because it is concentrated due to being dehydrated.  I would take him to the vet asap if not sooner.  He may have an obstruction.  This is not something that you should wait and see.

  8. i'm sure you have checked his stool for worms right? if i were you and he wasn't back to normal in the next day or so i would take him to the vet, better to be safe than sorry.

  9. It sounds like he may have a blockage! You need to get him to the vet NOW!!! Don't wait any longer! He may need surgery to remove whatever he ate.
