I got a pill from the vet to de-worm her. This morning she had a dark red gel like p**p with two dead roundworms in it. I called the vet and they made an appointment for Monday. Didn't seem concerned until I told them she wasn't eating. I am trying to give her rice cooked in chicken broth. Someone else told me to rub her gums with honey or maple syrup because her blood sugar maybe low and this will also cause her to stop eating.

  1. That sounds like a normal symptom associated with de-worming. My golden had heart worm when I was little, I don't really remember a lot of it but I do remember that his p**p was a jelly-like purple color for a long time. Be sure to call your vet if you have any other concerns.

    Good Luck with everything!

  2. may be caused by the pill and the de-worming that you are doing. when you take your dog to the vet, have them check for blood in the stool to rule that out. as long as it's eating and acting normal, I would not really worry.

    Good luck.
