  1. He might just not have been drinking enough water because of the stress of a new home. Try to encourage him to drink by getting him exercise and than showing him the bowl. He has a small bladder so he could have gone and you missed it. You should take a new puppy to the vet right away for a check up and get him established with a vet so you have a place to turn in an emergency. He might need shots and if he has had his shots they might want to give him booster shots. They will want to check his stool for worms so bring a fresh stool sample (put it in a sealed container an keep it in the refrigerator until you go), it sounds gross but I ask my brother to take my puppy to his first appointment because I had to work and my brother forgot to bring the sample so the vet took it manually, my poor puppy was traumatized and was afraid of the vet for years. I used to work in a pet store and I worked in a vet hospital for a short time, worms are common and shots are very important. And if there is a problem they will treat it.
