yesterday we were all sure he was gonna die cuz he was barely breathing and would barely move. twice i thought he was dead cuz he wouldn't respond to us and he was getting a bit cold and stiffer. but to my suprise this morning he was walking and even wagged his tail when he saw me!! we had been feeding him pedialyte and water every hour with a syringe. what can he eat now that it's the 5th day??

  1. The best person to ask, is your vet! Just give them a call!

  2. I would give my vet a call as I would want to make sure I was giving the most nutrient dense food I could find. You might want to ask the vet what he/she thinks of canned Evo that has been watered down to make a liquid puppy mush. Good luck and I hope he recovers soon.

  3. Feed him some Pedigree dog food.. the one that comes in a pouch, or canned meat.

  4. If you have called the vet in the past about treating him at home with Pedialyte, etc,  call the vet back again and ask about what you should continue to give him for food and liquids now.   Dehydration is the biggest risk, continuing to give him fluids often, even though he appears more alert, is still very important.

Too much food can upset his stomach right now, so he might be able to tolerate cooked boneless chicken, chopped up in very small pieces in broth, or baby food  in small amounts 3-4 a day. Call your vet, or speak to the vet tech about what is right to feed him now.  Good luck.
