  1. Request your free credit reports from annualcreditreport.com or call them toll free  @ 1-877-322-8228 for all 3 free reports. If there is something you're not aware of on the reports, despite immediately. Then put the account on fraud alert through Trans Union Fraud Dept. Their toll free # 1-800-680-7289. They will notify the other 2 bureaus. It has to be renewed every 90 days. I believe with the police report, it stays on for 5 years.Social Security Has a fraud dept. Their toll free # 1-800-269-0271. Better to be safe than sorry later.

  2. Call the police and report the theft.  Call the credit card companies and report the theft.  Call your bank and report the theft.  Consider locking your credit report so no one can open any accounts in your name.  It's a bit pricey and can be a pain but it can prevent your identity from being stolen.  Also consider a credit monitoring service so you can see what's going on.

Finally, if they got your keys, get a locksmith in to change the locks.

  3. contact your credit card holder and bank  Also you can contact the SS office and report your card stolen.

  4. Also report the theft to the three credit reporting companies so they can flag your account im case anyone tries to get credit in your name.

  5. call any credt card companies NOW and tell them and do as they instruct then call social security and tall them your card was stolen and they will help on that and of course i assume there wasa police report that will help too.So sorry for the loss it is a hassle im sure.Good luck. But telling the companies is your best way to get it taken care of and oh yes especially the bank if you had any accounts or you might not have one when the bad guys get done ok well thats all i know to do .Hope it helps
