When my husband came home she fitted herself in between her feeding ans water bowls...when he moved her she just stayed at the bottom of the cage , when he reached for her she squawked at him!

she walked a little bit then fell over.......we put her outside(still in cage) and she is breathing heavilybut she isnt doing much else!

  1. only if its laying

  2. Hmm...I'd take it to a vet, just to be safe.

  3. Take her to vets asap. This is either a very sick bird or she is going to lay eggs. She may be eggbound which is life threatning. Birds only go to bottom of cage for 2 reasons they are sick and close to dying or trying to lay eggs. Being that she fell over tells me she is very weak. Keep her warm and quite and get to vet asap. good luck. Put her food and water down by her. There are many things they can do for sick birds these days. Especially if it ends up she is just eggbound which happens often. if she lays alot she could even be calcium defeciant which is also life threating. Good luck

  4. i'm so sorry she died. my bird died too. he was a english parakeet. he had weird symtoms too. he would not come out of the cage and if i got him out he would hide... under things - couches, beds, table... but then when i woke up the next morning.... well you know. there's nothing more that pains me then a beloved lost pet. i'm so sorry.
