  1. to ship...no without a permit from government, but for your OWN use is different

  2. YES IT IS! BUT WAY SHOULD YOU PAY FOR IT

  3. No.

Your relative is trying to avoid interstate liquor taxes.

Also, shipping a bottle of booze?  Huh?  Who ships a bottle of liquid?

Tell your cheapo relative to suck it up and buy the booze herself.

  4. You cannot do it through the USPS, (United States Postal Service) but you can do it through other companies, such as UPS, Fed Ex, etc. So long as you do it that way, it will be fine.

  5. Avoidance of state liquor tax is a big no no.  Some states don't even allow people to take delivery of those wine-a-month things.

  6. The US post office will not ship it if they know there is booze in the package.   I tried sending friends, in Georgia, a bottle of wine.  The postal clerk warned me that it's illegal to ship alcohol via the US postal system.

Fed Ex and the other companies will... but if you tack on that cost of shipping.  It's cheaper for them to buy it themselves.

  7. The post office would'nt let me do it a few Christmases ago they waited to tell me until all the paperwork was filled out though.  So I went to a fed-ex type place-they did'nt even ask what was in the box.  (It was whiskey for my dad in PA.)  and they shipped it.
