  1. If you can't afford vet fees you seriously need to consider taking your bunny to a rescue centre of some kind that can get her on the mend. I'm sorry to say but if you can't afford a vet you shouldn't have a pet. Its clear that your poor rabbit is suffering and by denying it veterinary help you are condemning your rabbit to a long painful death, which is doesn't deserve.

You cannot self medicate your pet by feeding it cabbage and lettuce is a definate no no. As your rabbit isn't drinking she clearly doesn't have long until she dies as she will soon become dehydrated.

Just please take her to a vet, you don't have to pay up front for fees and you can arrange a payment plan with your vet.

  2. Take her to a vet to a animal doctor

  3. Oh! I am sooo sorry! I had a rabbit who had something similar once. It ended up having to be put to sleep. :( I hate it when such sweet, innocent, lives have to be taken. Maybe there is something you can do about it. Maybe this isn't the disease. Do your research.

In any case, DO NOT feed your rabbit cabbage. Cabbage is very unhealthy for rabbits. I wish you the best in this. I hope your rabbit gets better.

  4. i would either drop her off the humane society see if they can afford to fix her, tell them you found her

    or

let her die peacefully in your arms

    good luck hopefully she'll recover

  5. Well... Rabbit jerky is pretty good.

  6. Food can't heal injuries she can probably stand she might just have a stomach ache if one of her legs is injured wrap it tightly but not so tight that it cuts of circulation she is probably in so much pain that she just don't want to eat.

  7. what! do u think a couple of vegetables will solve it! i dont think so! dont buy an animal unless u can afford the vet bills if anything goes wrong! why should the animal suffer for ur loss!

  8. There is nothing you can do, other than take her to a rabbit savvy veterinarian for professional treatment. Without it, she could die. Usually, the vet's office is willing to set up payment plans and work with you to pay it off. But it is not right to let the rabbit go just because "you can't afford it". If it were your child, you would get him or her medical treatment; same for the rabbit. If you can't afford the vet, you can't afford the pet.

That said, rabbits should NEVER be fed cabbage or iceburg lettuce, as it can cause illness or death as well.

  9. PLEASE READ THIS: look up FLOPPY RABBIT SYNDROME on the net.  If you recognise the symptoms, dont let the vet jab her with anything.  Its a rare disorder and not all vets can deal with it yet.

our rabbit was unable to move but still breathing, we took it to the vet and he started making a recovery whilst on the heat pad, then the vet gave him a jab and killed him.  When we got home we realised that if we had kept him warm, given him natural yoghurt, vitamin e and a bit of tomatoe juice he could have recovered.

If it is an obvious injury rather than generalised weakness then your local animal hospital will be able to give voucher assisted care if your family is on benefits.

Please dont let it just suffer if you think it is in pain, vets will let you pay bit by bit if you explain.

  10. I know you can't afford it but i seriously think you should take the rabbit to the vets when you buy pets this is what happens you should of maybe take on the full responsibility that things like this would happen. I hope it turns out ok =D
