Question:

My rabbit is acting strange after the recent earthquake

He always used to be a very friendly rabbit. He loved me and would l**k me and always come when I called. But now he hides in the corner, constantly sitting in the back of his cage. Rarely comes to me even when I have treats. He comes for my mom, but not for me, and still he is very skittish with her. There was an earthquake here recently and he was acting weird right before it, and ever since then he's been odd. What can I do to change this behavior and make my rabbit unafraid of me again? D:

  1. Animals such as the ones at the zoo start to act strange because they sense that something is wrong. Scientists sometimes come to the zoo to make sure if the animals aren't acting strange like your rabbit. Try talking to him and maybe showing things like his toys or anything interesting. It will draw his attention to something else and forget that the earthquake. Or if this doesn't work, give him some time to be by himself and he will be back to loving you in a couple of weeks :)

  2. Rabbits, like other animals, have the "sixth sense" where they can sense danger.  My rabbits get very jumpy right before a thunderstorm, so I can't imagine what affect an earthquake would have on a rabbit.  Just give your rabbit time to get re-used to its surroundings.  In time it should become friendly again.

  3. Your rabbit is acting funny after the earthquake?

Well that makes two of us.
