My radiator in a 95 chevy monte carlo

my radiator in my 95 chevy monte carlo when i take the cap off has some white grease looking stuff in with the fluid and its preaty thick, what is it? and what should i do rinse it out with a hose? please help!

  1. I assume you would know if you had used any Radiator stop-leak lately if you have owned the car for long. Another possibility is you've been mixing green or blue anti-freeze with Dex-Cool which is pink will react with each other badly. The other possibility is oil is mixing with your Anti-freeze, usually from a bad head gasket. Check your oil, and make sure it doesn't look like a warm chocolate milk shake. If the oil looks OK, I'd recommend a Radiator/Cooling System flush, and re-fill with your choice of anti-freeze and stick with the same type.


  2. Sounds very much like oil. if it is a head gasket or cylinder you will have a spotless spark plug as it will be steam cleaned...pull the plugs and check them.

    or

    Take it to a shop, we can test the gasses coming out of the rad and tell you if there are compression gas by products in the rad.

  3. oil in cooling system....you have a leak ...have your cooling system pressure tested...this can be done at any good automotive or radiator repair shop,s.
