Question:

My radio and tape deck cut out when driving?

Just got a used 96 Isuzu Rodeo. Once I adjust the radio so it is okay and don't touch anything, just off and on it is okay. If I adjust the volume it goes in and out and if I play a tape it is really bad. It worked fine in accessory mode though. My husband thinks the whole stereo is broken but I'm wondering if it could be an easy fix.

  1. check the fuse box for loose fuse, or loose wires on the back of unit, check for ground wire also..connected tight

  2. go get your car check. thats what happened to my brother once he got his car checked his radio stopped doing that.

  3. You may have a loose connection or ground wire.

  4. Does it seem to cut out when you hit a bump, or just if you touch the volume k**b? It is most likely a bad volume control k**b, which is just a variable resistor in most cases, or one of the pins have a come un-soldered inside which would not be an easy fix, or even worth it. I have had a similar problem with a factory radio in a toyota.

  5. spray the player with electronic cleaner and check the ground wire  it will work it is just some easy stuff
