  1. Your little rattie could have a respiratory infection that could be fatal if not treated. Take her to a vet. He/she will give you some antibiotics (most of the time called Baytril) that will help her symptoms.

  2. consult a vet

  3. it might be repertory,go to a vet well you still can before it gets worse,or you should try changing the shavings.may i suggest pets pick or carefresh.but i  preffer pets pick ive been using it for years.

there is nothing really you can do a vet helps, they can diagnose what is wrong, but if she does have respritory i would recommend just to put her to sleep.i have had tons of people come in with rats that have respritory.putting her to sleep would be the best thing to do before it gets worse and she starts to suffer.

  4. Sounds like your lil' girl has a respiratory illness. She needs to be seen by a vet (who is knowledgeable in rat care!) for proper medication.

  5. what kind of bedding are you using?  some kinds of wood shavings, like cedar and pine, can cause respiratory distress in rats, so if you're into wood shavings you should use aspen.

if you're using carefresh, i've heard that can be really dusty and irritate rats' respiratory systems.  you might try yesterday's news, it's good about keeping odor under control and it's made from recycled newspaper so it isn't dusty.  my rats have yesterday's news as litter and fleece for bedding, and they're doing fine.

of course, it may be caused by something other than their bedding, in which case it would be best to consult a vet.  good luck, hope your girl feels better! :)

  6. sounds like your pet may have allergies. i would take the rat to the Vet.
