My rat shivers frequently. Is something wrong?

I keep them in a comfortable environment and the temperature is fine.

  1. It might be comfortable for you but the rat might be cold. Get it a wee coat and bootees


  2. How do you know its shivering and it's not just some other movement?

    :P If its shivering its the body's natural reaction to warm herself up. Does she have a fever? Any other symptoms? Keep a close tab on her if she shows any symptoms and put her in a separate cage;

  3. There is no other explanation except that the rat is cold. Rodents don't fell the same temperature as you do.

  4. It's cold. Give it something to keep it warm and you should keep the rat in the bathroom. It is a very warm place.
