  1. Sneezing is the first sign of a respitory infection. You need to get her into a vet. Alot of times when you get them from petstores they show no signs of illness. Stress of moving to a new home can bring a respitory illness on. Respitory infections in rats create havock on there lungs and need to be treated right away with an antibiotic so further trama on the lungs will be avoided. A respitory infection creates a bubble like abcess on the lungs. You need to get your girl to the vet. And stop using aspen bedding. It gave my rats all massive respitory infections. Try carefresh, soft sorbant or yesterdays news. Good luck. Ohh and respitory infections depending on if your rat can fight it off can die within days of getting one so please get her into the vet.

  2. porbably the aspen bedding!

that almost gets EVERY rat to sneeze!! aspen bedding is weird with that kinds of stuff

  3. You keep her in a tank?  That's probably your problem.  Rats need to be in wire cages- their respiratory systems are very sensitive, and living in tanks makes them sick.  She probably needs to go to the vet and get some antibiotics, and then needs to be in a wire cage.  If she's your only rat, you need to think about getting her a friend, too.

It doesn't sound like allergies to me. She sneezes more inside the tank because the ammonia from the urine is stronger, and that irritates her lungs/infection.
