  1. either take it to the dealer and pay about 50 bucks or go to the auto parts store and buy rear view mirror glue. make sure you clean the old glue off with a razor blade, and clean residue with rubbing alchol you should not have much of a problem doing it.

  2. Go to an auto parts store, and tell them that the mirror fell off.  You can get a kit to clean the mirror base, the glass, etc, and glue it back on.  Follow the instructions exactly to get the best results.

  3. Ralfcode and carman have excellent suggestions.  Get the kit from an auto parts store (about $10 for the full Perma-tex kit, which is the best in my opinion) and follow the directions closely.

The one tip I always offered my customers who were doing this was to make sure it's not too hot/humid when you do the gluing.  The ideal temperature is 70-75 degrees F, and it should stick well.  I wouldn't worry too much about the weight.  Those glues, when properly used, are very stout.
