My recent psychiatrist is going to be cutting down on his work load, and looking toward retirement?

Should I call his nurse and see if I should be worried? What should I do?

  1. Just like with anything, talk to your Psychiatrist about it.  Let him/her know your concerns, and I am willing to almost guarantee you they have a plan for their patients, recommendations on other doctors to see, etc.

    It's understandable to be worried if you like them and feel comfortable with them, so talk about it and ask who they would recommend you to.  It's not a very uncommon thing for retiring psychiatrists.


  2. this might mean that he is not taking new patients and is not available for as many apointments as before.  You might not be able to get into apointments like you used to.  You can ask his nurse what the impact would be.

  3. I'm sure that your psychiatrist can recommend someone reliable for you to see.

    Not to worry as we have many excellent Drs.
