My recycle bin on my desktop doesnt get a file when i delete it!?

I deleted a file, and expected it to go to my receycle bin!, but i went there and nothing is there, and now everytime i delete something it just goes away and the recycle bin doesnt get any of my deleted documents or pics

How do I get my file back!

How do i stop it from doing that,

  1. right click the recycle bin.  Select properties.

    there's an option there to delete files immediately and not use the recycle bin.  Turn it off.

    as far as getting back the stuff that's been deleted.  You'll have to find some file recovery software to see if it's can be recovered.  If a file has already overwritten the area of your drive where the deleted file was, then it's toast.  


  2. The only thing I have heard of that does this is third party software.  Norton Security's Protected Recycle Bin, etc...  There are some ISP's (cable/DSL) that come with protection things when you sign up that will do this as well.

    You can check your task manager to see what processes are running and if anything dumps when you delete a file.  Also check your security settings, as well as the allotted file size for the recycle bin itself.  If a file is too big for the bin's allotted size it will just delete it instead of storing it in the bin.
