Question:

My red eye rat's eye turned clear?

I noticed it a cupple days ago. One of my rat's eyes turned clear. It was normally deep red. Ever since I got it.... It can see just fine.

Why?

  1. I think it could just be sign of age, as your rat gets older it could just be changing.


  2. It could be going blind.

  3. its the first sign of death., make sure its in its cage because if you lose it and it dies it will stink out your house.

  4. IMO it could be the formation of cataracts.

  5. Several of mine have done that and lived for a long time afterwards and they lived to be healthy, happy old rats. Must be something that just happens. Some vets do see rats though so I would take him or her in if it seems to be a problem.

  6. Try to call your vet and talk to him/her about it. Hopefully he/she will know what it is!!
