My red factor canary laid an egg. What should I do?

  1. give her eggs to eat. That'll replenish the protein in her body.


  2. where did it lay the egg ? in the  nest or on the floor of the cage ? and if it is in a nest then leave it alone and let her sit on it for 30 days and if there is no more eggs then get rid of it .

    It depends where it laid it if it was in a nest leave it, if how ever it was on the cage floor etc then put it in the bin.

    Main thing is though have you got a male if not then don't let the hen ncubate it as its a waste of her time and energy incubating a clear egg, as well decide whether you want to breed them and if you would be able to sell the babies as its pointless having chicks if you can't sell them.
