  1. It makes snakes uncomfortable to eat while shedding, especially for red tailed boas as they have trouble shedding.I would revise you against it. The stretching of the skin is painful.

  2. As long as it's eyes aren't clouded you can feed it.

If it is having problems shedding you should try giving it a warm bath with olive oil(completely safe) in the water. It hydrates and loosens the skin making it easy for the snake to shed.

You should try raising the humidity for the next shed it might help.

I hope this helps you. Good luck!

  3. Don’t soak the snake in the tub…all that does is give you a wet snake.  Also putting olive oil on your snake can be dangerous for it…it's not good.  If your snake hasn’t shed in a month then it's time to “help” your snake shed  Take a plastic box (either a plastic shoe box or plastic sweater box) and drill several small holes along the sides at the top.  Put about an inch of lukewarm water (about 80 Fahrenheit) and put the top on the plastic tub and “soak” the snake for about 3 hours (changing the water every so often if needed).  The reason to do this in a plastic tub with only an inch or so of water is because it's the humidity that this creates that helps the skin loosen and come off easier for your snake.  Good luck.
