He did have a wound to where his muscle was showing but it is pretty much healed. For some reason he looks skinny because i am not able to feed him because of the shed taking so long. Its been at least a month. I have tried putting the humidity up buy using a damp towel but i dont see no difference. Is there any other ways that i could help him?? Maybe laying him on a warm towel and let him rub all on it..? Anyone please give me some type of advice.

  1. D you have rocks and stuff for him to rub on in the cage. I used to mist mine with a water bottle but you have to be careful that mold doesn't start to grow on the floor. I did that once and it made my ball python sick.

  2. i have a python and we pad her with warm towels and fill the bath very little and let her swim. it loosens it up and will shed better. if that does not help take him to the vet.

    hope he will shed!

  3. If you snake is having a bad shed then take a plastic box (either a plastic shoe box or plastic sweater box) if you snake needs a bigger box than that get one that is big and flat...not too tall and drill several small holes along the sides at the top.  Put about an inch of lukewarm water (about 80 Fahrenheit) and put the top on the plastic tub and “soak” the snake for about 3 hours (changing the water every so often if needed).  The reason to do this in a plastic tub with only an inch or so of water is because it's the humidity that this creates that helps the skin loosen and come off easier for your snake.

Also if you want to try to feed your snake you can try…I have some snakes that eat during shedding no problem and others that have no interest in food while they are shedding.  It just depends on your snake.

    Good luck.

  4. place him in luke warm water if that doesn't help use luke warm water with a product called shed ease

Try feeding him if he's under weight and its been a month he might still eat while shedding its nor that you shouldn't feed while shedding its more like they might not feed

  5. He may have needed anti biotics for his wound it sounded and still sounds bad that typ eof trauma will casue shedding problems too .  You have said humidity is up and the heat of course is regulated?  Nutrition will also play a part in shedding.  As you suggested warm towels in a bath should help making sure water is correct temp..eyes of course being the most important so that he/she can resume eating..you can if you feed live also try frozen since she cannot see to protect herself..you do know when frozen you need to heat to warm temp.In his home you need to also make sure there are somethings he can use as shedding tools..soemthing rough but not to rough and water in a larger bowl that he can lie in at times to help shedding..

Hope this helps you out some...Our dog vet gave us anti biotics for our snake and we had to give shots for a few days and it worked out fine..so if you need a vet call around..
