  1. A no cool problem of this nature could be several different possibilities. Defrost issues where your coils are frozen blocken the food compartment. No freezer fan to move the cold air over. Freon leak. Visit the suggested link for more info and cheap parts.

  2. Is it fairly new?? If it's not it would be cheaper to replace it.

If you are going to repair it I'm sure you will be able to find the replacement part you need.

Also, it's possible that it could be something besides the motor.

  3. If your freezer is normal and you don't have a defrost problem that is blocking air flow then I suspect the damper.

There is some possibility of somebody having left the door open for hours and filling the air return with ice.

GE profiles have a very high tendency to break the damper in the refrigerator. I think because it freezes. The first ones were REAL bad about it. I have replaced many of them.

If it breaks and stays closed you get your warm temps. If it breaks and falls open it freezes everything.

Those dampers now come as an assembly and it will cost you most of $300 to replace it. You can't determine that failure by feeling for air flow like with other refrigerators because that model uses the fan to circulate the air within the refrigerator, as well as moving air in to the refrigerator.

The only way to really check is to pull the assembly out and shake it to see if the door is broken off. At that point you can visually see it too.

But it is difficult enough, a little tricky, to get to it that I wouldn't try to explain how to train you here to remove and replace it.

    Good Luck.

  4. If the freezer is cold and the refrigerator is not, you probably don't need a compressor.  The circulation fan could be bad.  Take a look at www.repairclinic.com for some troubleshooting advice - good site.  You wouldn't be able to change the compressor yourself.
