I have tried altering the thermostat and have switched it off for 24 hours but it is still doing the same service engineer is going to cost more than the appliance is worth, but it is integrated and is a problem to get out

  1. dude just un plug it 4 some time then  swich it back or call an expertist to check it.

  2. buy a new fridge

  3. Try this,

You have one of a couple possibilities. The coil could be dirty. Pull out the refrigirator. On the back, you have a large coil. Try vacuuming it clean. Sometimes if it is dirty, it cannot cool the fluid and causes frosting. The door seal could be bad. This allows humidity to enter and frost up. You could also be low on freon. It takes a professional to refill the gas. Hopefully, one of the other problems is the issue. Try the first two, if they don't resolve the problem, update your question and I can give you a few more ideas.

  4. get a new one?

  5. get a new one.

  6. Pull it out and clean the bars on the back properly (use a vacuum cleaner etc) - put it back and leave a 20mm gap from the wall.

    Well, its worth looking at.

  7. You need to replace the timer. The timer control the defrost cycle, and it would appear it is not going into defrost cycle..

  9. Is it stuffed full, as I had this problem and it was the fact that I had put so much in the fridge the air was not circulating properly. keep everything clear of the back interior wall and don't overfill your fridge. Try it as this might be all thats needed.

  10. The way frost free freezers work is by using a small heater tube inside the walls of the freezer to melt the ice that naturally forms.  Yours must be defective.  This is a repairable item but if the cost is worth it depends on you.  Do you pay good money to just end up with an old refrigerator or hold off and use that money towards purchasing a new more energy efficient model?

  11. many fridges have a small vent  at the bacl on the inside, if tis is blocked with, say, something right up against the rear panel, it can stop the thermostat working so ebsure nothing is pushed hard against the rear

  12. Mine does the same thing every few weeks.  I unplug it an let the ice melt and then plug it back it and it works again.  I'm curious to read your answers because I'd love to have more of a permanent fix!

  13. Get a new one

  14. i had the same problem with my fridge, it can happen from the waste pipe becoming blocked, try getting a coat hanger. (a wire one!) make it into a long rod and jam it down the waste pipe see if there is anything blocking it.

Thats what causes most problems with regards to fridges over-freezing,

if not it may be that your thermostat has conked out, and it's cheaper to buy a new fridge.
