  1. This would be dependent on the units location and how hot it is.

It could also need defrosting. It could also need the fins on the back and the coil underneath cleaned.

If there is not a build up of frost or ice, you may need to have a service call.

  2. If it is too cold you might have a thermostat problem. But if it runs all the time and is not too cold clean out coil underneath or on back.If it is not cold enough defrost problem, fans or just worn out.

  3. maybe it is time to start to be thinking about bying a new one.

  4. 100%  cold control

  5. First, make sure you have the correct control. The on off conrol (sensor or thermostat) will or should have off labeled on it.

Assuming you have already done this the next step is to find out if you have a solid state control or a thermostat. All the current refrigerators Ive seen are electronic - solid state. THese have 2 wires that go to a sensor. The solid state board is going to be located someplace inside the box. Some of the controls Ive seen are just fan or air dampercontrols and the sensor is located in the air stream or on the freezer coil. The sensors Ive seen are small about the size of the bulb sensing end of a  mercury fever thermometer and have 2 wires going to this bulb. Put this bulb in an ice water bath in a small cup add ice and water and then add some table salt to lower the temp even more if it continues to run the board and sensor values must be known to replace the bad part or replace both the board and sensor.

Also if the fan motor is not running for some reason causing cold air to be kept away from the sensor this could be your problem so look it over also.
