Okay I have a huge dilemma. I live alone my brother and his fiance moved out last year. I am paying 780.00 a month in rent. Lately I been living from check to check because of it. It's getting to the point where it is really killing me. I couldn't pay any of my bills last week. Because of my rent. My cable phone lights gas are all past due. I am now living in an expensive apartment but could possibly have all of my bills cut off very soon.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I tried looking for a cheaper place but where I live some places are higher than where I am living. I thought about a roommate I don't trust anyone to really live with. I had to get a payday loan last week just to pay this rent. I can't live this way any longer. If anyone has any ideas please let me know.

  1. we are in the same boat buddy

  2. get a 2nd job and find a "sandwich" tenant; someone to lease

the unit and let you leave.

  3. A) Turn off the cable.  Go to the library and get a book - borrow a DVD, etc.

    B) Look for a roommate.  You can talk to many people and you don't have to choose someone unless you are comfortable with them.  Lock up your most valuable items in your room and put a lock on the door.

    C) Look for any other ways at all to reduce your spending.  Can you carpool to work?  Are you paying for a cell and a landline?

In my opinion, B is the most obvious choice.  Payday loans are the worst thing you can do and start a cycle you will find it hard to extricate yourself from.  Get a roommate NOW.

    Good luck to you.

  4. You find yourself in the same dilima as many of us ....

I'd suggest that you either find a less expensive place to live and MOVE OR get a roommate .....

You can get background checks done at several places online ; for your protection .

Just be sure that they PROVE employment for at least 6 Months , and give you THREE personal references complete with full address and phone #'s .....

  5. Sub-let the apartment to someone else so that you no longer have to pay that amount of rent.  Put your furniture in storage temporarily while you find another place to rent.  In the meantime, couch-surf or stay with a friend.

    Possible solutions:

    - get a job that pays more

    - find a roommate

    - find an apartment that costs an affordable amount

  6. Sounds like you have your back against the wall.  You don't have many choices here.

You need to: A. get a trustworthy roomie.  B.  Find a cheaper place to live.  Look for a 1 bedroom or an efficency apt.  Life is no fun when all you live for is paying just a few bills.

Call the utility companies and tell them that you are having financial troubles and see if you can get on a payment plan.  It is always good to let the companies you are dealing with what is going on.  Better that than for them to think you are just ignoring the bill.  It works.  Even if you move to an apt where the heat and water are included you are saving money.

  7. Where do you live right now?I think you better find your friend and share a home with them.
