My retail business is doing so bad. Help.?

I have a retail business and it's not doing well. I had to use credit cards to cover my store bills such electricity, phone, rent, etc. And now I owe a lot of money with interest. Does anybody have any suggestions on what to do improve my business. People always suggest I advertise more but advertising costs too much.
