im not grotesquely overweight, but i am a little overweight, im 15, and im about to start my period.

my right arm feels kinda like its tight up in the shoulder area, kinda tight-ish in the elbow, and the bone running down to your hand, like my wrist is kinda burning. its not painful, just irritating. this sometimes happens when im done working out.

i swam for four and a half hours yesterday, for the first time in 4 months.

i swam really hard.

im just scared of a heart attack.

so idk, what do you think it could be?

  1. The chances of someone your age having a heart attack are not too strong, so I wouldn't be concerned with that. Sounds like you either pulled a muscle in your shoulder or neck. Some warm compresses, or a hot bath, and some ibuprofen (motrin or advil) will help with any soreness too.

Numbness in your LEFT arm is more common with heart attacks anyway!

  2. You are young to be worried about a heart attack. The pain that you feel is probably related to the activity that you performed prior to the pain. I'm glad that you are concerned about your health! Women do have uncommon signs of a heart attack. As the person above stated, LEFT arm pain usually points to a heart attack  IN MEN(along with many other things!), but in women, anything can be a sign of a heart attack.

Thanks for the great question and keep up the swimming!!!
