Question:

My right ear is plugged up- help!?

I finally did get it to un-plug, but it's been happening quite often where I try to release pressure and the pressure just builds up higher- in the right ear, the pressure gets un-bearable and I get dizzy and such. Do I have a build up of wax or something? Also what are some good ways to release pressure build up in the ear? Yawning? Holding my nose and blowing throw the ears (you know what I mean lol)?

thanks

  1. Definitely see you doctor, but in the mean time, assuming everything else about you is normal (i.e. no fever, headaches, etc.), I'd try the mineral oil treatment.  Put a few drops of warm mineral oil in your ear and lie on your left side for about an hour.  The mineral oil will help dissolve the waxy buildup that is probably the problem.  Repeat as necessary.  Heed the warning in the link below if you think you may have perforated your eardrum.  I'd assume that if that was the case, you'd have fairly constant pain.

Also, the techniques for releasing pressure in your ear apply to situations when air pressure is the cause, NOT when the discomfort is cause by a blockage.  Beware of those techniques in your case.    Good luck.

  2. you've probably got wax built up in your ear.  do you use qtips?  you'll probably  need your ear irrigated. ive had to have mine done 2 times.. it feels great when they finish.  it doesn't hurt just make an appointment with your doctor. as far as relieving the pressure.  yawning is the easiest way for me .. make an appointment with your doctor. it could be something else.

    good luck.

  3. do you swim a lot?

you might have swimmers ear if it pains

usually i just open my mouth and i do this weird thing idk how to describe it and it depressurizes my ears but sometimes it have to do it multiple times to get the block to go away

sometimes i shake my head and it goes away too
