Question:

My right eye has been hurting for the past 2-3 weeks after getting new glasses...?

About a month ago I went to get a new prescription for eye glasses. A week later I had them made and have been wearing them for a little over two weeks. For several days after wearing them my eyes felt tired, strained and as if they were being "pulled" almost. I figured my eyes were just getting adjusted to the stronger prescription and it might take a few days. Then my right eye began to hurt - the muscles around it seem to hurt the most. It hurts to move it, but only if I'm moving it into a more extreme direction, ie right out of the corner of my eye. My left eye seems to be adjusted and I don't feel the strain in my right eye but it continues to hurt upon extreme movement. I don't notice any kind of change in my vision as far as I can tell. Could this sort of pain around my eye be due to a faulty prescription on that lens ( I have had the lenses checked to be sure they match the prescription ) or should I be worried about a more serious problem? I don't have insurance.. :(

  1. I have the same sensation when I don't wear glasses. If I am incorrectly corrected without glasses and that's the reason for my discomfort, then it could be that your prescription needs tweaking a bit. Worth checking out.
