My right eye has been lightly twitching since yesterday afternoon. why? what does it mean and how do i stop it

Mine will twitch every now and then as well and I asked my eye doctor about it one time.  He said it was most likely due to stress and that with time it would stop.  However if it persists I would ask your eye doctor.

How to treat an eye twitch

Whether this means embarking upon stress management through cognitive therapy, occupational therapy, or other types of group therapy or support meetings, these methods of improving and developing coping mechanisms should be explored.

In general, the approach to the treatment of blepharospasm varies with its severity.

Medication (different depending on situation) usually to relax muscles

Botox injections

Surgery only for the severest of cases that hamper vision

Get plenty of sleep to keep eye muscles rested

When in vision intensive scenarios such as computer work, take frequent breaks to give the eyes a break

i got this from another website that describes the less medical meaning of twitches. (hope they dont mind me using the info...) Apparently the time of day it twitches is also important.

11pm - 1am

Twitches or tics in the left eye means a noblemen will come to see you. If the right it means you will be invited to a party or feast.
