I am a orthodox fighter. My Right hook is too wide, i need to make it sharper and less wide any tips?

I have tried tucking my elbow in closer to my body but that seems like bad form

  1. Adjust your hip and shoulder to turn faster, you're already keeping that arm bent at a perfect 90 degrees I would assume since you're "orthodox".  Are you not stepping forward out of your jab stance? that could be the problem, but it still just sounds like a small adjustment is needed in the hip and shoulder when you're turning into that punch to me.  I wouldn't sweat the elbow .... the higher the better I always say.... but I don't mean "telegraph" it either.  Try a small jump into the hook and see if that doesn't help maybe.  The most important thing is the hip and shoulder though ........ being a "orthodox" fighter you should alreay know that.  Maybe pull the hand in closer and step in closer to the heavy bag that may be the adjustment you need as well.  Of course I can't see what you're doing wrong at the heavy bag, but I still drew a mental picture of what might be the problem and you could try what I just said or maybe a little bit of all three adjustments.

    Good luck

One more thing is your stance too wide maybe?  A wide stance will s***w up a proper hook as well.  Maybe bring your feet a little closer together in your stance ..... just a tad.
