Question:

My rights due to KLM flight cancellation?

22 days after purchasing my plane ticket, I got an email from KLM Airlines telling that my return flight (from Maastricht) is not operational due to schedule change. And now I can not find any tickets near my return date, do they obliged to arrange my return flight either by other airlines, or what are my rights to demand in such a condition?

  1. Yes they have to arrange return ticket for you or refund your money. Just be strong to your point. Mail them about their fault and then call the customer care.

  2. They are obligated to put you on another KLM flight or refund your money.  Anything else is up to their discretion.

  3. I was put in the same situation with KLM, however I was informed at the airport when I was due to fly out, and the options I got were to cancel my trip and get a full refund or change my flight days/times.

They are not obliged to put you on a flight with another airline. The option you get is to cancel if you are not happy so that you can book with another airline. It doesn't mean you can't ask...

KLM was great in dealing with my issues and when I ended up having a long stayover while transferring flights (due to my flight change) they gave me meal vouchers to buy food with.
