So, I got my hamster yesterday afternoon and it wont drink any water. I know it's still getting used to the cage and stuff but what do i do if this continues? The water bottle is still full, and i haven't seen him drink a drip of water. Is the bottle too big or something? I have the water bottle in this cage--->

  1. if you've been feeding him fruits and veggies he is getting all the water he needs from that. hamsters are desert dwellers so they can get water from vegetation. if you're not feeding him fruit and veggies, i would start, so he can get water.

  2. Usually the water bottles that come with cages like that are not good quality. My hammy wouldn't drink from the bottle that came with her cage. I had to get her a new one :) So I suggest getting a different one. Make sure there's a metal ball inside the tip of the bottle...anything else is not good. In the mean time try putting a little bowl with water in her cage

  3. I have 2 robo hamsters and a water bottle exactly like that. Your hamster will eventually get used to the cage and drink out of the water bottle, he/she is probably already drinking but you just don't notice because hamsters are nocturnal and plus they don't drink that much. If you are really concerned fill your water bottle up and mark it with a sharpie and see if the water level goes down within 3 days.

    Hope this helped!! :)
