My roller blinds are hard to pull, can I use a drop of oil?

I would guess that the mechanism is plastic, so I would say no.  I have rollerblinds and the real big ones are harder to pull due to the weight.  How big is the blind?  I have one over 6 feet across and have to hold the bottom bar in the middle when I lift it or it is too hard.  I am guessing you might be in the same boat.
