My room gets extremely hot when I run my Xbox 360 because of its heat output. Any ideas to cool it off?

I have a box fan and a ceiling fan but it still gets pretty hot. I was thinking about getting an intercooler for it but I don't know if that would help the heat of the actual room.

To get the room cool, your best bet would be to open as many windows as you can, get more fans, or buy an air conditioner.  Buying an Intercooler for your Xbox will be very beneficial to the Xbox itself but it may make the room even hotter because of the now even more powerful air output.  Although I would still reccomend getting that Intercooler especially if the room is hot.  It will decrease each part of the Xbox's body a few degrees Celcius which is quite a bit.  The Intercooler also decreases load times! I own GTA IV and it's load time at the beginning is cut in half when I have my Intercooler on.  So I would say buy a Nyko Intercooler EX (make sure it's the ------EX------ version because the non-EX version melts and destroys your Xbox) and buy an air conditioner for the room.

I have the same problem, my advice is dont buy the intercooler, its pretty much useless, plus thats only blowing more hot air out of the xbox, i just make sure to either keep my door open or open it every now and then to cool my room down

ok there are a few steps to getting your xbox cool, first DO NOT get an intercooler or any kind of cooler, they just use more power to run the cooler and heat up your xbox even more.

Step 1: the big brick (power source) make sure its off the ground, like what i do is get a shoe lace or something like that and make it hang so its not touching anything because that is mainly what is causing it to heat up.

Step 2: Make sure your xbox is laying horizontally, not vertically, because if its vertical, all the holes in the bottom where most of the hot air shoots out is covered up so it causes it to heat up even more.

Step 3: While your xbox is laying horizontally, Put a couple books under it so its far off the ground so the holes on the bottom arent covered up.

Step 4: Make sure all the cords in the back arent tangled up, they need space apart or they will attract heat.

Well make sure you have it raised and nothing cloth around it. Keep liquids AWAY. That normally works for me with other electronics.

a damp towel over it, with the fan running, thats how I keep my computer cool.

DO NOT use anything to cool your 360 except the proper intercooler for the 360. Look at Gamestop.com at check the customer reviews to see which one works well with no problems.
