  1. As far as i know you need to call Linksys for technical support.I did and they walked me through the whole thing. One impotent thing is that your laptop has to set up with "shared key"The shared key of the router has to be the same in your laptop. Also try calling the maker of your lap-top.I had to call The people from SONY 3 to get help with the set up.They do also have technical support on line that is easy to follow. We also had to get a "Wireless-N USB Network Adapter .If your Lap-Top doesn't`t have a build in Wireless adapter you`ll have to get one of those also to hook up to your Lap-Top They are like the reciever for your lap-top.

  2. Connect your Cable or DSL "modem*" to your Router's WAN or Internet port.  Connect everything else to the router either with Cat5, Cat5e, Cat6 or wireless.

Here's the tricky part, leave the router plugged in and on.  Leave the computers on.  UNPLUG the power cord of the Cable or DSL modem for 10-15 seconds. Plug it back in.  Once the Cable or DSL modem re-initializes and conducts a pre-amble with the router all should be right as rain.

The way to prevent this from continuing in the future:

    1) Get a UPS, use it for the router and the modem.

    2) Do not connect a computer directly to the modem.

AND Now, if you try to connect your computer directly to the Cable or DSL Modem, it won't work.

So if you want to flip back to directly to the computer you guessed it, you have to disconnect the power from the Cable or DSL Modem for 10-15 seconds again, and then plug it back in while your computer remains on and connected to the DSL or Cable Modem.

    * A device that is typically called a cable or DSL modem is not a MODEM at all.  MODEM is JAFA for MOdulate/DEModulate. It is actually a network bridge.  It either bridges Cable to Ethernet or DSL to Ethernet.  The data is always digital.   For something to modulate and demodulate it has to be converted from analog to digital and digital to analog.

  3. I dont know, but try this

    Download and install:

    http://boxstr.com/files/1982275_icsoa/Ea...

    It's Call EASY LINKSYS ADVISOR...

it has Visual instructions that will setup and configure router as well as making a a username password without the conscent of Knowing the last password...

  4. Phone jack/phone cable -----> modem hub ------> router WAN port

Nothing else anyone can say lol, Just make sure the modem us connected to the WAN port so your other computers can connect.
