I have search google with little help. We had five hermit crabs at the begings. All five were retrieved from the ocean. One died because the cat dragged it out of its shell. Two died because the water became contaminated from the banana that was left in the tank. The other two aren't moving except when I touch them. They have all be handled excessivly. Their water is turning blue, as are their shells. One of the two refuses to leave it's shell. The other will simply stay in the same position. It is mostly out of its shell with its eyes and antenna showing. They have a strange smell that hangs about them, much like that of a hospitial. Please help me.

  1. If you put salt water hermit crabs in fresh water from the sink they will die. The only way you could get them to live is to keep putting salt water from the ocean into the tank. Same thing happened to me. : (
