My samsung tv messed up?

ok i have a samsung tv (28 inches i think) and it itsnt a hd tv. recently, the tv was like messing up the picture and you could still hear sound perfectly and now its just a whitish line across the middle of the tv and you can still hear sound thogh. my dad says the picture tube is messed up and you cannot repair it is there a way to fix my tv?

Your Dad must have done years of study to reach that conclusion !!

It is not your CRT

The fault is the vertical amp chip either dry jointed or faulty itself ! bad solder is extremely common

On the other hand it could be an electro cap anywhere in the vert deflection circuit.

Get a TV Tech to look at it and give you an idea of cost , it should be cheap to moderate !!!

Don't let your Dad have a go at repairing it !!!
