My sandisk mp3 player wont work

My friend gave me her Sandisk player which is an old one and I cant seem to get it to appear on my computer

it could be because its in msc mode, you have a vista computer, or you have wmp11 on xp. If its in msc mode (from the mp3 player you go to settings, then usb mode, then u can change it) and you have a xp with wmp10, then change the usb mode to mtp. If you have vista, then it might be in mtp mode becuz wmp11 is on vista and wmp11 doesn't have the proper drivers to recognize the device. So if oyu have vista change it to msc and then replug it in and then go to computer, then click on the player. then you can drag and drop songs

okay try this.

1)go to my computer and rick click it

2)go to properties

3)from there go to device manager

4)look somewhere in the sub part anything that has a yellow circle and an exclamation mark

5)from there see if you can reinstall the driver or something
